Family of Spotted Eagle Rays Original Watercolor Painting | Under the Sea
DID YOU KNOW? Spotted Eagle Rays have an unusual tactic to tracking down their prey; they swim along the ocean bottom, using its large rostrum – or nose – to sense crabs, claims, snails and other tasty eagle ray snacks that are hiding in the sand. They then crush the hard-shelled prey with their flat plates of teeth. [ Source: Master Liveaboards ]
Original unframed 11" x 14" watercolor painting of a Family of Spotted Eagle Rays. Not to be confused with manta rays or stingrays, two other popular species of rays.
This painting was painted on 140lb cold press white watercolor paper. There may be artist pencil marks from the sketching stage of creation, or minor watercolor blemishes that do not show up on art prints. Sometimes watercolor paper may contain a light letter press watermark of the paper brand on lower corner of the paper. These characteristics make the piece truly one of a kind.
