Manatees Original Watercolor Painting | Under the Sea
DID YOU KNOW? Manatees go to the surface of the water every three to five minutes to breathe although they can remain underwater longer, holding their breath for up to 20 minutes. When they do take a breath, 90 percent of the air in their lungs is replaced (whereas humans tend to replace about 10 percent). I suppose "Under the Sea" isn't quite their preferred place to hang. Original unframed 8" x 10" watercolor painting of two manatees.
This painting was painted on 140lb cold press white watercolor paper. There may be artist pencil marks from the sketching stage of creation, or minor watercolor blemishes that do not show up on art prints. Sometimes watercolor paper may contain a light letter press watermark of the paper brand on lower corner of the paper. These characteristics make the piece truly one of a kind.
